1. The Primary Air System is key when burning solid fuels such as coal and is essential during the initial stages of fire lighting or reigniting wood on low embers. This air enters the appliance from beneath the grate, delivering oxygen directly to the base of the fuel to maintain combustion. Once the fire is established, the primary air’s role diminishes as the other air systems take over, ensuring a more efficient and clean burn.
2. The Secondary Air Wash is designed specifically for burning seasoned wood and works to keep your stove’s glass clean and clear.
